ARCHITECTURAL SPATIAL INTEGRATION // CASE STUDIES

Architectural Spaces & Case Studies

Examining the physical performance of Phaos optical systems within monolithic envelopes. How calibrated beam cutoff, indirect floating datums, and zero-glare darklight preserve architectural silence.

The Pavilion of Monoliths

SPATIAL CHALLENGE & ARCHITECTURAL INTENT

A sanctuary for monumental stone and iron sculptures. The architectural envelope is pitch-black, requiring light to carve out physical mass from the surrounding darkness without revealing its celestial origin.

OPTICAL STRATEGY & PHOTOMETRIC RESOLUTION

Strict darklight pinhole downlighting (STYLOS O-12) coupled with high-cutoff downlights (MONOLITH F-80) positioned 7.5 meters above floor level. Cutoff angle of 55° ensures visitors walking along the perimeter reflect zero eye glare, preserving the psychological illusion that sculptures emit their own gentle warmth.
